Meet the Board: Monica LaBoskey

🌟 Introducing Monica LaBoskey – A Force of Excellence! 🌟

A seasoned legal professional with an impressive career, Monica's wide-ranging legal experience, which includes domestic violence, family law, and diverse litigation areas, showcases her versatility. By day, Monica works as Deputy Director for Family Violence Appellate Project, where her operations, administration, and leadership work form the backbone supporting vital services for domestic violence survivors. Monica's professional dedication is matched only by her personal commitment to family, youth, and community, making her an inspiring role model in every facet of her life.

Monica's journey to our board began as part of OIGC's acquisition of the Oakland Youth Chorus, where her impact was felt deeply. She was part of a small, highly dedicated board that shepherded OYC through the challenges of COVID and leadership transition. She agreed to continue her support of youth, music and the arts, and her community by coming over to the OIGC board, where her influence now extends to OIGC's long-term sustainability. She has embraced OIGC's succession needs, including our nominations/board recruitment processes, helping to ensure our leadership is balanced and stable, vibrant and forward-looking.

As a dedicated mother, Monica adeptly manages her family responsibilities alongside her volunteer commitments. Her capacity to balance these roles is a testament to her resilience and commitment to what matters most.

Monica's passion for cultivating an inclusive workplace culture resonates with her community service efforts. Her commitment to equity and inclusion shines through every endeavor. I value her candor and commitment, her passion, and her willingness to step up. She is a true leader, and I am grateful for her time and dedication.

Join me in applauding Monica's outstanding journey. Her commitment to professional excellence, community, family, and the sustained growth of OIGC embodies the spirit of our organization, illuminating a path toward a brighter future.
